Deed Wiki is a community history project sponsored by the Middlesex North Registry of Deeds.  Individuals who create accounts may add content about properties within the registry district The original house at 147 Loon Hill Road was a log cabin constructed by my grandfather, Raoul Beaulieu, in 1919.  Raoul came to Dracut from Quebec as a young man.  During World War I, he was employed at the U.S. Cartridge Company in Lowell.  His job was deeded essential to the war effort, so he was exempt from the draft.  Even though he wanted to serve, the government would not let him leave his job.  During the 1920s, Raoul built a colonial style house on the lot next to the cabin.  That house remains there today.  Raoul and my grandmother, Roseanna Beaulieu, finally sold the house in 1982 when they were well into their 80s.  They moved into the Dracut Elderly Housing Complex.
